sorry, nothing exciting to share

Not much new news to share. We got an email from Amy (the woman who did our home study) and everything looked great! We are working on getting our first set of fingerprints done and still gather things for our dossier. I'm getting a little pooped with all the paperwork, I need my second wind!

All these blogs that I've been reading have totally gotten me excited, well even more excited! All the pictures look amazing. A part of me cant wait to get there and a part of me is scared to death. I am SO glad that Stephanee is going with us. She will be such a good rock for me to lean on. Nothing like your big sister!! I know she will be right in her element! Thanks Steph!

An apple a day...keeps the doctor way

Yeah, I have my paperwork from my doctor!! No more blood work, tests, shots, picking and prodding...well at least until we get a travel date then I guess Jason will have to drag me in for some immunizations shots. Now I need to tackle the passport. Here's the history...I went to the court house the first time to get my passport done and I didn't have my birth cert., so I ask the lady, "Is that ALL I'm going to need?" and she replies with a yes. So the next day I go back. Now keep in mind that I'm having to actually fix my hair and put on makeup because of the photo so this is a HUGE inconvenience for me. So I get out all my paperwork, my birth cert in hand, I'm feeling confident when she ask me for two forms of ID. Now for most people it wouldn't be a big deal. But of course this is for me. See when I got married I didn't go and change my name however most things are in my 'Ashley Roberts' name such as, health insurance, checks, etc, just I never changed it legally. So I have my license as my one form yet have NOTHING as a second. Not a libary card, credit card, health card, NOTHING. She turns me away again. To make matters worse the woman is completely enjoying my failure. Jason of course is also enjoying this because he's been telling me to change my name for two years now. But its going to be okay, I have found a way to prove that I am Ashley Rutledge, and today I WILL get my passport!!

Homestudy...check!

One step closer...our home study was today and went very well...I think anyways! The woman doing our study came to the house around 9 this morning so we were up around 6:30 to get prepared. Sleepy head Ella was still snoozing at 8:15, so I had to wake the little bum up to get her ready. She was really sweet, and polite, and just kept saying, 'wheres my baby sister?' I guess you know what she's hoping for! We talked awhile about our family, our expectations, life after we adopt, etc. Then she talked to us one on one. I went first, then Jason...scary I know. Really though he did great, charming her the whole way through. She left around noon and said she'd have our report soon. So I am feeling great, it was a breeze and now we're just trying to get all of our paperwork finished! Next on my to-do list is the doctor tomorrow, which I'm freaking out about. I'm a bit phobic of going to the doctor so this is a huge deal, I HATE any kind of appointments where people I don't know touch me including but not limiting: dentists, dermatologists, chiropractors, physicians, however some how I do find the strength to love facials, pedicures, manicures, massages...wish me luck.
